PURPOSE:To correct the area of a video signal as well as the area of a PCM signal most suitably at the reproducing time by switching a correcting circuit of the video signal and a correcting circuit of an information signal in an extended part by a control signal. CONSTITUTION:The video signal detected by an A head 1 is switched by a switch SW-1 and is corrected by a video equalizer 8. The PCM signal detected by a B head 1' is switched by a switch SW-2 and is corrected by a video equalizer 9. The PCM signal detected by the head 1 is switched by the switch SW-1 and is corrected by a PCM equalizer 10. The corrected signal is taken out at a correct timing by video/PCM changeover switches SW-3 and SW-4 controlled by a head switching signal circuit 12. Switches SW-1 and SW-2 are controlled by an equalizer changeover switch control circuit 13, and the circuit 13 is controlled by the circuit 12.
