IMMERSION NOZZLE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To extend the life of a nozzle and to improve resource economization and productivity by forming the inside wall surface of the nozzle of a sintered body consisting essentially of Mo and ZrO2 and specifying the compounding ratio thereof thereby preventing the erosion and clogging of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The inside wall surface 2 of the immersion nozzle 1 for continu ous casting is made of the sintered body consisting essentially of Mo and ZrO2 at the compounding ratio of 50-90% Mo and 10-50% ZrO2. There is no C component in the inside wall surface 2 an therefore the penetration of the porous base metal is not generated and the nozzle life is extended when an aluminum killed steel is subjected to immersion casting by the refractory nozzle 1 consisting of alumina graphite, etc. The resource economization and productivity are thus improved.
