Pick-up needle for sensing a sound groove, which is inserted with a fastening part into a support. At the pick-up tip engaging in the sound groove there is formed a V-like pick-up edge line. The section of the pick-up tip lying at the front, against the direction of movement of the sound groove, is designed as a cone-shell surface, symmetrical with respect to the direction of movement. The pick-up tip has at the rear at least one free surface, intersecting the V-like pick-up edge line. The cone-shell surface extends over an arc angle between 120 and 180 DEG . The pick-up edge line has a rounded polishing finish of 1 to 5 mu . <IMAGE>
