PURPOSE:To select a condition easily and in a short time by selecting an exciting current by which a spatter generation start time becomes the longest from the generation of an arc in a selected gap and an arc current value. CONSTITUTION:Welding is executed by changing a gap value of a test pipe in various ways extending from small to large, a gap value at the time when an arc voltage waveform is changed greatly to regularity from irregularity is selected, and this value is fixed. Subsequently, in this gap value, an arc current is varied variously, an arc current value of a limit for generating an arc vanishing phenomenon is derived, and a current value which is a little larger than this value is selected and fixed as a correct arc current. Next, in the gap value and the current value, an exciting current is increased and decreased variously, a spatter generation start time is measured, and the exciting current by which the time extending from the generation of an arc to the generation of a spatter becomes the longest is selected and fixed as a correct value. According to said procedures,a correct condition of three factors of the gap, the arc current and the exciting current can be selected by a small number of times of experiment. |
