Cruciform pipe system which splits a flow

A cruciform pipe system is described which splits a flow and has a pair of first branch pipes (6a, 6b) which branch off one end (5a) of a main pipe (5) and have an internal diameter (D2) which is less than the internal diameter of the main pipe (5), and which cross the main pipe (5). The pipe system additionally has a second branch pipe (7) which has an internal diameter (D3) which is at most equal to the internal diameter (D2) of the first branch pipes (6a, 6b) and which branches off the end (5a) of the main pipe (5) and crosses the first branch pipes (6a, 6b). The pipe system is additionally provided with a curved guide surface (8) which is defined by an internal surface of a connecting section between the main pipe (5), the first branch pipes (6a, 6b) and the second branch pipe (7), so that a liquid layer which flows along and in the vicinity of the internal surface of the main pipe (5) flows into the first branch pipes (6a, 6b).
