A rod type cosmetic material holding and handling container with a case having an axially-extending bore at least one end of which is opened, and a movable holder provided with a permanent magnet member and supporting a rod type cosmetic material is inserted slidably in the axially-extending bore in the case. An operating member provided with a finger-operable second permanent magnet member is engaged slidably with an outer portion of the case. The first magnet member in the movable holder and the second magnet member on the operating member are disposed so that these magnet members are joined to each other magnetically and attract each other. When the operating member at the outer side of the case is moved by the fingers, the movable holder at the inner side of the case is drawn and moved accordingly, so that the rod type cosmetic material sticks out from and retracts into the case. Two rod type cosmetic materials can also be supported side by side on the inner part of the movable holder. Also, two movable holders each of which can be slided independently and supports one rod type cosmetic material therein can be housed in the case, and these holders can be moved by their respective operating members. |
