Arranged below a slide magazine (7) having magazine compartments (7a) which are open at the bottom and sealed by a base plate (7b), are locking bars (2, 2c, 2d and 3, 3c, 3d) which seal by means of a recess (7c) in the base plate (7b) three magazine compartments (7a) uncovered by means of the recess (7c). During forward transport (Fig. 2), the magazine compartment (7a) arranged around a magazine compartment division in front of the picture stage (4) is uncovered by pivoting the locking bar (3), the slide (6c) is positioned in the picture stage (4) and projected. During projection, the magazine is transported by a magazine compartment division, after which the slide (6c) is moved back by means of a slide lifter (1) into the empty magazine compartment (7a) arranged above the picture stage (4). During rearward transport (Fig. 3), the magazine compartment (7a) arranged around a magazine compartment division in front of the picture page (4) is uncovered by pivoting the locking bar (2, 2c, 2d), and in the process the picture stage (4) is automatically pivoted into an inclined position enabling the slide (6g) to drop in. When the slide (6g) has dropped in, the locking bar (2) and the picture stage (4) are pivoted back, and the slide (6g) is positioned and projected. During projection, the magazine is transported in such a way that the empty magazine compartment (7a) is available over the picture stage (4) for returning the projected slide (6g). <IMAGE>
