In the suspension eye (10) or load or slip hook (20), the safety flap (12, 22) is made of a tough plastic resistant to thermoforming and having a high coefficient of elasticity, such as a polyamide elastomer or a polycarbonate plastic. The cheeks or the legs (15) of the safety flap (12) are formed with reinforcing beads (16) which project to both sides of the eye opening (11) or hook jaw (21) and the height of which can be at least 25 to 50% of the normal leg or wall thickness (15a) of the material of the safety flaps (12, 22). The design of the plastic safety flaps results on the one hand in an especially advantageous production of safety flaps of this type, which in addition, however, are also especially dimensionally stable and fully cope with the forces and stresses acting on safety flaps of this type without permanent deformation even during slight manipulation. <IMAGE>
