A process for producing fibre material mouldings which are surface-laminated on both sides with cover films is described. Cellulose fibres and/or lignocellulose fibres are mixed with thermoplastic and thermosetting gluing agents (binders) to form a non-woven fabric and the latter is compacted by single-stage or multi-stage compression moulding to form mouldings. Before compression moulding, the non-woven fabric, including the cover films covering it on both sides, is heated to a temperature which on the one hand permits thermoplastic deformation and on the other hand is above the reaction temperature of the thermosetting glue (binder). Subsequently the heated non-woven fabric is finally compacted in the cold mould and demoulded.
