The invention relates to a seat shell for chairs, in particular work swivel chairs, in which a seat support serving for attaching a seat surface is arranged inside the seat shell, the outer contour of the seat shell being matched to the shape of the seat support. In such a seat shell, the object is to be achieved of arranging the inevitably required openings for the attachment means as advantageously as possible. For this purpose, provision is made for the openings (14, 15) to be provided with edge reinforcements, and for the circumferential edge (6) of the seat shell to be constructed so as to slope down towards the floor.
