<p>PURPOSE:To avert the pause of the operation of a waste heat recovering boiler and a preliminary reduction furnace in a method for charging iron ore, carbonaceous material, slag forming agent and O2 or air to a melt reduction furnace by storing and burning adequately the waste gas of above-mentioned furnace and preliminary reduction furnace. CONSTITUTION:The iron ore, coal and quicklime reduced in the preliminary reduction furnace 1 are charged into the melt reduction furnace 2 from a tuyere 12 at the bottom thereof and gaseous O2 is charged therein from a tuyere 11. The above-mentioned iron ore is melt-reduction and tapped. The molten metal is tapped by opening a gate 10 without tilting the furnace 2 in this stage. There is no generation of the high-temp. gas from the furnace 2 during the tapping and therefore the waste gas of the furnace 1 is supplied in turn through an inlet 9 into the upper part of the furnace 2 and is burned. The high-temp. combustion gas is fed from a hood 14 to the waste heat recovering boiler 5 by which the boiler is continuously operated. As for the furnace 1, the waste gas generated during the operation of the furnace 2 is thoroughly stored in a holder 7 even if the furnace 2 is under tapping and is in the pause of the melt reduction and the waste gas from the holder 7 is heated in a heat exchanger 4 after removal of CO2 in the device 6 and is then supplied to the furnace 1.</p> |
