PURPOSE:To process a burr by on-line without a person's help, by removing the burr of the peripheral edge part of a cutting surface of a cut billet, on a carrying-out line from a continuous casting machine. CONSTITUTION:A round billet piece 13 which is cut by a gas cutting, etc. is stopped by projecting a cutting surface 13a of the tip in the forward direction from a frame 18, on a carrying-out line from a continuous casting machine, and thereafter, a double edge cutter 15 and a clamp 17 are made to abut on the side face of the round billet piece 13, the round billet piece 13 is moved in the backward direction by pushing the cutting surface 13a by a hydraulic cylinder 26 of the first pusher 21, and a burr 16 of the peripheral edge part of the cutting surface 13a is scraped down by the double edge cutter 15. Subsequently, a cutting surface 13b of the rear end is projected in the backward direction from the frame 18, the round billet piece 13 is stopped, and thereafter, the double edge cutter 15 and the clamp 17 are made to abut again on the side face of the round billet piece 13, the round billet piece 13 is moved in the forward direction by pushing the cutting surface 13b by a hydraulic cylinder 28 of the second pusher 22, and the burr 16 of the peripheral edge part of the cutting surface 13b is scraped down by the double edge cutter 15.
