A multi-beam colour display minimizes the miss-convergence at less than 0.2 mm in the direction of horizontal deflection. The display system comprises a colour CRT with in-line type 3 electron guns and deflection yoke assembly, a pattern signal generator providing a digital signal for dot image, and a signal phase controller. The signal phase controller adjusts the phase of digital colour signal in response to the corresponding quantity of the miss-convergence in the direction of horizontal deflection, and provides the controlled signal to the colour CRT.
