<p>PURPOSE:To form effective edge-up parts at both side-ends of a rolling sheet by providing a stable, large and horizontal bending curve to a work roll, by mounting a means for making the axial end pats of an intermediate roll movable in the line direction together with its backup rolls. CONSTITUTION:Large bending is provided to a work roll 2 for the purpose of controlling the edge drop of a rolling sheet S. In this case, the rods of cylinders 22a, 22b are extended and contracted by driving servovalves 13a, 13b respectively in response to a signal outputted from the 1st setter 10. Roll chocks 7a, 7b mounted on the axial ends of an intermediate roll 4 are moved by said motions, and the positions of axial ends of roll 4 are moved from a point Y to point Y', then the intermediate roll 4 is bent as shown by the broken line. When the aimed curve is obtained, the rods of cylinders 6 are extended and contracted by a signal outputted from a 2nd setter 15, and each short-body roll 5 moves by the quantity corresponding to the moving quantity of intermediate roll 4 to come into contact with the roll 4.</p> |
