PURPOSE:To protect a disk when carrying and keeping a cartridge by locking a hard disk contained in a housing, by a lock member, and releasing the lock by a release mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A lock member attached to a housing 20 of a cartridge A is placed between upper and lower half bodies 22, 24, one end opposed to each other is supported so as to be freely oscillatable by a pin 32, and the other end is energized by a tension spring 34 so as to be returned to the direction approaching each other. Also, a lock release mechanism 40 is provided with a clock pin 42 projected in the outside diameter direction in the turning end of the lock member 30, a compression coil spring for energizing this pin 42 in the projecting direction, and L-shaped slide hole 46 formed in the housings 22, 24. In this state, when carrying or keeping the cartridge A, the member 30 is locked by the spring 34, and the outside periphery of the disk 10 is inserted and held by an elastic material 38. On the other hand, when the cartridge A is set to a turntable, a lock release pin goes into a hole 50 of the pin 42, and subsequently, the release pin is guided to the hole 46, the member 30 is separated from the disk 10, and the disk is rotated in the housing.
