PURPOSE:To obtain an object confirmation system capable of confirming the echo of the object on a radar picture as an observation echo by ITV, by displaying the visual angle of ITV in the observation azimuth or horizontal direction thereof on the picture of radar. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that an ITV camera 5 is directed to a certain object 12-3 by an ITV camera controller 6 and the zoom of said camera 5 is adjusted not only in the left-and- right direction but also in the up-and-down direction to display the image of the object 12-3 on the center of the picture of an ITV monitor 7. At this time, agimuth angle information 9 and a focal distance 10 are inputted to an image controller 8 from the ITV camera 5 and two bright lines 15, 16, which display the monitor angle 14 of the ITV camera in the horizontal direction corresponding to the focal distance set by the zoom quantity of the ITV camera 5, and the bright line 13 showing the azimuth angle of the optical axis of the ITV camera 5 are displayed on the picture of a radar display device 4. By this method, the image of the ITV monitor 7 and that of the radar display device 4 are displayed in a form easy to understand. Furthermore, the monitor angle 14 is calculated from the information relating to the focal distance of the lens system of the ITV camera 5 and the diameter of the photosensitive surface of an image sensor through the operation in the image controller 8 and outputted to the display device 4.
