PURPOSE:An inorganic coating that contains, as major components for forming coating films, a roasted mixture containing sources of zinc oxide, metal oxides and boron oxide, a water-soluble silicate salt and silicon polyphosphate, thus showing high heat and water resistance, high flexibility and good operability. CONSTITUTION:The titled coating, as essential components for coating film formation, (A) a product obtained by roasting a mixture (i) a source of zinc oxide such as zinc oxide, (ii) a source of metal oxide: MxOy (M is metal atom in groups III and V in the periodic table; O is oxygen atom; x, y are arbitrary integers) such as titanium oxide and (iii) a source of boron oxide such as boric acid, at a temperature over 500 deg.C, (B) a water-soluble silicate such as water glass and (C) silicon polyphosphate obtained by heating a mixture of a source of silicon dioxide and a source of phosphorus pentoxide.
