NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I(R1 is H, or CH3; when R1 is H, R2 is 2-methyl-1-propenyl, 2,2-dichlorovinyl, 2,2-difluorovinyl, 2,2- dibromovinyl, or 2-chloro-2-trifluoromethylvinyl, and when R1 is CH3, R2 is also CH3). USE:An insecticide. Having extremely high insecticidal effect, immediate effect, and no environmental remaining properties like organic chlorine insecticide, etc. Having relatively low toxicity to men and beasts, exhibiting excellent effect on insect pests having resistance to organic phosphorous insectides or carbamate insecticide, and producible relatively inexpensively. Effective against insect pests such as Musca domestica Linne, Culex pipiens pallens Coquillett, imagoes of Nephotettix cincticeps Uhlera, imagoes of Blattella nipponica Asahina, etc. PREPARATION:A carboxylic acid shown by the formula II or its reactive derivative is reacted with a novel alcohol shown by the formula III optionally by using a solvent, a reactive solvent, and a catalyst, to give a compound shown by the formula I including an optical siomer.
