The invention relates to a knock-in screw, especially for releasable fixing of window-frame cover panels, with a slot arranged in the head and with a shank which can be driven with its thread webs with a firm fit into a prefabricated receiving bore having a diameter somewhat smaller than that of the thread webs. A sealing collar directed obliquely outwards at a distance around the shank portion near the head is attached to the outer edge of the head; the thread webs terminate at a predetermined axial distance from the transverse plane defined by the annular end edge of the sealing collar. The knock-in screw consists, integrally with the sealing collar, of a weather-resistant visco-plastic. The sealing collar has a cross-sectional shape which during installation, by elastic upward bending, bears sealingly in the manner of a lip against a face extending transversely relative to the receiving bore.
