8 alpha -Ergolinylmethylcarboxamides, carboxylic acid esters and thio analogues of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which C9...C10 represents a CC single or a C=C double bond and R stands for a substituent from the group consisting of <IMAGE> processes known per se for their preparation and their use as medicaments are described. The compounds according to the invention are effective in the central nervous system field.
