PURPOSE:To reduce the residual distortion generated near a magnetic gap by providing high-hardness nonmagnetic ceramics, whose coefficient of thermal expansion can be changed by compounding, in a part of a track width control groove which controls the track width of the magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:Plural V-shaped grooves 12 are formed on an upper face 11a of a ferromagnetic oxide block 11 consisting of a ferrite or the like, and the second V-shaped grooves 15 are formed on the upper face 11a after packing a high-melting point glass 14 in grooves 12, and a thin film 20 consisting of a 'Sendust(R)' or the like is sputtered on the upper face 11a. A high-hardness nonmagnetic ceramics block 21 having projecting parts 21a to be fitted to these grooves 15 is formed, and projecting parts are fitted to grooves 15, and a low-melting point glass 23 is placed in positions where the block 21 is not arranged, and the thin film 20 and the block 21 are adhered to each other, and an excess part of the block 21 is eliminated. Two block 11 are obtained in this manner, and a winding groove 31 and a glass groove 32 are formed in one block 11, and both of them are welded with the low-melting point glass through a gas spacer consisting of an SiO2 or the like, and parts near the glass groove 32 are removed, and this joined material is cut along lines A-A and A'-A' to produce a magnetic head. |
