<p>PURPOSE:To obviate a collision-from-behind accident, by making irradiating beams pass or intercept to or from both light projecting and receiving parts of infrared rays set up on a floor surface and the opposite position with a foot between, in a way of placing the foot on an accelerator pedal or coming off. CONSTITUTION:When a driver turns on an engine key 6, an electric current flows in a light projecting part 4 and thereby when a light receiving part 3 receives infrared rays irradiated by the light projecting part 4, the current flows in a solenoid switch 7 whereby stop lamps 8 and 8 are lighted by the switch part. Then, when a root is placed on an accelerator pedal 1, the infrared rays are cut off, thus these stop lamps go out. In case of stopping a car, if the foot 2 comes off the accelerator pedal 2, the infrared rays irradiate the light receiving part 3 again, and the current flows in the solenoid switch 7, closing the switch part, and these stop lamps are lighted. Thus, giving advance notice to a succeeding car of the fact that the brake is operated now, and a brake pedal 9 is stepped on. Therefore, these stop lamps 8 and 8 are lighted at that point that the foot 2 comes off the accelerator pedal 1, thus they are yet earlier lighted than ever before.</p> |
