PURPOSE:To obtain a detecting device useful for fishery, navigation, submarine surveying, etc. by displaying the submarine conditions continuously in three dimensions every section of a conical beam and enabling to grasp the conditions of a school of fish or the sea bottom, etc. exactly. CONSTITUTION:When a conical ultrasonic pulse is emitted from a piezoelectric transducer group 3, a changeover apparatus 5 changes the beam based on a counted value of a counter 12. A receiving signal from the changeover apparatus 5 is scanned every section in order from the side near to the location of a ship itself and stored in a memory 7 after A/D converted. Each memory has a capacity to store a detection signal for transmission of one time and also, stores the intensity of each detection signal. At the time of reading from the memory 7, a read address is decided according to a counted value of a counter 14. Hereby, detection signals of plural sections obtained by reception of the conical beam of one time are displayed by classifying the intensity by color and shifting in order in the direction of the beam every section on the scope of CRT. In other words, the submarine conditions in the plural sections cut in the direction of the conical beam are displayed continuously in three dimensions.
