PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of an ion source, interface and vacuum evaporating part by constituting a titled device in such a manner that the outflow liquid from a liquid chromatrograph and the liquid from a liquid supply means can be selectively supplied to an ion source by a flow passage change-over means. CONSTITUTION:The outflow liquid from the liquid chromatograph 1 passes through the interface 5 and enters the ion source 2 and is then fed to a selector valve 10 when the valve 10 is in the A (solid line) state. The solvent is discarded into a waste liquid reservoir 15. The outflow liquid from the chromatograph 1 is discarded into the reservoir 15 when the rotating part 12 of the valve 10 rotates 90 deg. and the flow passage is changed over to the B (broken line) state. The solvent is fed by a liquid feed pump 13 to the interface 15 and is introduced to the ion source 2. The same solvent as the solvent used for the chromatograph 1 is fed under the same pressure and at the same flow rate by the same liquid feed pump 13 and therefore the pressure conditions in the interface 5 and the ion source 2 are maintained under the specified conditions in exactly the same state as the state A in which the outflow liquid from the chromatograph 1 is introduced. Only the component to be analyzed is thus introduced into the source 2 and the contamination is prevented. |
