A remote power operated rear window device has a casing 10 which can be secured to the inside of a vehicle. The thread 12 driven by an electric motor 18 via a gear box can both push and pull a rear side window. Moreover, switching the motor ignition key to the "off" position can activate the device to shut the rear side window.
