LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the display quality of a liquid crystal display element by adding a dye which absorbs the light of a specific wavelength region to a twisted type nematic liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:The dye which absorbs the light of 520-680nm wavelength region is added to the twisted type nematic liquid crystal 11 of the liquid crystal display element of a negative display which has the twisted type nematic liquid crystal cell and the neutral polarizers disposed on both sides thereof and forms the display part as a transparent part. The ratio of the above-mentioned dye to be added is preferably 0.5-1.5wt%. The transmitted light in the light shielding part is thus capable of absorbing efficiently the light of 520-680nm wavelength which is the essential component of the transmitted light and therefore the color drop-out in the light shielding part is prevented.
