PURPOSE:To select a setting position for an original and to allow even a left- handed operator excellent operability by providing fixed scales at both end parts of an original platen in the moving direction of the 1st carriage, and operating operation keys nearby those fixed scales. CONSTITUTION:An original is set along a desired fixed scale 21 or 22 and either of copy keys 301 and 302 provided nearby the fixed scales 21 22 is operated, so that copying operation based upon the set fixed scale 21 or 22 is kept ready. Therefore, both right-handed and left-handed operators have excellent operability. Further, the copy keys 301 and 307 are provided nearby the fixed scales 21 and 22, so the operator only operates the copy key closer to the fixed key where the original is set to prevent misoperation and perform operation speedily.
