The invention concerns a passive-type coupler providing the distribution of information on optical fibres. This coupler is composed of a main optical fibre (2), one end of which is optically coupled to two secondary optical fibres (3, 4) bonded together over a portion of their length, with optical axes parallel to that of the main fibre and which are bevelled at their ends in contrary directions by angles ( alpha ', alpha '') such that the numerical aperture of each secondary fibre is adapted to that of the main fibre, in such a way as to achieve a division of the optical energy exiting the main fibre into two equal or unequal portions. Application to fibre optic telecommunication systems.

|
