A plant growth regulation agent for increasing grids and improving the quality of various plants. This agent comprises, as an effective component, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formulas: <CHEM> and <CHEM> (wherein each of R<1>, R<2> and R<3> is H, alkyl or alkenyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms or benzyl group; R<4> is H, CH3, C2H5, CH2=CH, or CH3CH=CH; and X is CN, COOH, COOCH3, COOC2H5 or CONH2; R<1>, R<2> and R<4> in general formula (A) not being simultaneously hydrogen atoms) and salts thereof, and R<1>, R<2> and R3 in general formula (B) not being hydrogen atoms.
