PURPOSE:To regenerate and recover a Co catalyst, which is contained in oxo-reaction products, in the form of dicobalt octacarbonyl or cobalt hydrocarbonyl, by transferring the catalyst to an extractant and subsequently treating the extractant layer with a mixed gas of H2 and CO. CONSTITUTION:Co catalyst present in oxo-reaction products of olefinic unsaturated compounds, which exists in the form of dicobalt octacarbonyl or cobalt hydrocarbonyl, is transferred in the form of a cobalt carbonyl compound to an extractant having the property of acting as a Lewis base, and the extractant layer and the oxo-reaction products are separated. The extractant layer is treated with a mixed gas of H2 and CO, or CO gas in the presence or absence of a mutually immiscible solvent, by which the cobalt carbonyl compound is decomposed to be regenerated and recovered as dicobalt octacarbonyl, etc. EFFECT:Since a catalyst is recovered and regenerated without use of an acid or an alkali, troubles about waste water do not arise. |
