发明名称 ALKALI-ZINC PRIMARY BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To realize a battery structure which can exhibit an excellent storage capacity, discharge capacity, and leaktightness almost without addition of mercury to the negative electrode, by using a zinc alloy containing indium as the negative electrode active material, and further by accomodating hydrogen occuluding alloy having hydrogen occulusion pressure smaller than a specified pressure value in the empty chamber of the battery, isolated from the positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:It is difficult to obtain, as the negative electrode material, completely corrosionproof zinc alloy without adding indium. On the other hand, in order to obtain a battery having good practical properties without adding mercury in the negative electrode 12, the necessary amount of the hydrogen occuluding the battery capacity. Furthermore, the occulusion pressure of the alloy must be less than 5atom. in order to prevent leakage or expansion due to the internal pressure of the battery. The powder of the hydrogen occuluding alloy 10 is placed in the empty chamber formed at the upper part between the layers of the two layer separator 9 having the opening 9' of the upper part and the part 9'' which comes in contact with the top part of a positive electrode 8.
