<p>The wheel for use in a grinding machine has the base material (1) first machined round and balanced. An adapter (3) is formed on the base material to secure the wheel to the grinding machine and a coating (2) of abrasive material applied to the outer surface. The adapter can be in the form of a taper bore or alternatively of a boss or hub. A number of straight grooves can be formed in the peripheral surface of the basic material, these being left free of grinding material.</p> |
