Sepn. is achieved by the addition of ammonia as well as the usual water vapour to the gas before it enters the electrical field. The ammonia may be added simultaneously with the water vapour or thereafter, particularly in the form of a spray of ammonia liquor and in amounts of up to 100 p. pm. esp. 10 - 30 p. pm. The process prevents accumulation of high resistance dust on the precipitating electrodes and subsequent fall off in productive capacity of the precipitator. |
