PURPOSE:To prevent the engine from being damaged by emitting an alarm when the liquid level of a water jacket is not recovered even if a drive signal is emitted to a supply pump for supplying a coolant to the water jacket for a period of time which is longer than a predetermined period of time. CONSTITUTION:An ebullition type cooling engine cooled by utilizing vaporization latent heat of the coolant within a water jacket 2. The coolant vapor is cooled and condensed in a condenser 7, and then circulated by means of a supply pump 13. The liquid level of the coolant within a water jacket 2 is kept at a predetermined value by controlling the supply pump 13 in accordance with the output of a liquid level sensor 10. In this case, when the coolant in a lower tank 9 detected by a liquid temperature sensor 33 assumes a high temperature which is more than a predetermined value, and further the supply pump 13 continuously operates in a period of time which is more than a predetermined period of time, a first alarming means 41 is actuated. Further, when the coolant temperature of the lower tank 9 is lower than a predetermined value and the supply pump 13 is continuously operated, a second alarming means 42 is actuated. |
