PURPOSE:To save the energy by operating a refrigerating machine only when the wet-bulb temperature of air is higher than the cooling target temperature of fluid, and cooling the fluid directly by air and stopping the refrigerating machine in the case where the wet-bulb temperature of air is low. CONSTITUTION:When the wet-bulb temperature of ambient air detected by a temperature sensor S1 is lower than the set temperature, a control section 7 is actuated to cause the refrigerating fluid returning from a cooling coil 4 to the high-temperature side 3 of a fluid tank to be pumped by a pump P2 to enter a cooling tower 6 where it is cooled directly by the ambient air to a temperature lower than the set temperature, and then it returns to the low-temperature side 2 of the fluid tank. If there is a lack of cooling in the cooling tower 6 due to atmospheric conditions, change of load etc., and the temperature of the low-temperature side 2 of the tank or ambient air temperature exceeds the set value E1, E2, a pump P1 and the refrigerating machine 1 are started and the fluid supplied to the cooling coil 4 is cooled by the refrigerating machine 1 to be recirculated through the low-temperature side 2 of the tank, pump P3, cooling coil 4, high-temperature side 3 of the tank and back to the refrigerating machine 1. Therefore the cooling fluid at a desired temperature is supplied to the cooling coil 4 without an interruption. |
