PURPOSE:To enable obverse/reverse arranging work for paper sheets to be carried out in a narrow space at a high speed by installing such gates as assorting paper sheets into an exclusive obverse or an exclusive reverse inlet depending upon the result of obverse/reverse discrimination, and connecting both the above inlets to a common housing unit. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet 1 entering a transport route 2 allowing random state of obverse/reverse of paper sheet is subjected to obverse/reverse discrimination. If it is in obverse state, a gate 5 makes upward turning movement to connect the transport route 2 to the exclusive obverse inlet route 3 immediately before it reaches the gate 5, and it is introduced into the inlet route 3. Then, it is inserted in the blade 24 of an impeller 6 and stored in a housing unit 8 in obverse state. In the case of a paper sheet in reverse state, on the contrary, the gate 5 makes downward turning movement so that the sheet may be introduced in the exclusive reverse inlet route 4 to be subjected to inversion of obverse/reverse by means of an impeller 7 and stored in the housing unit 8 in obverse state. Then, paper sheets 1 are separated one by one by means of a pick up roller 25, a feed roller 26, and a gate roller 27 and sent out to an outlet transport route 10. Thus, obverse/reverse arrangement can be processed in a narrow space at a high speed. |
