PURPOSE:To produce the titled polyester suitable as a material for exterior paints, by reacting a specified modified polyester with a polyalcohol allyl ether. CONSTITUTION:An OH-containing unsaturated polyester is reacted with an alkoxysiloxane and the obtained reaction product having at least one unreacted hydroxyl group per molecule is reacted with a polyisocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) at about 40-80 deg.C to form a urethane compound having free isocyanato groups. This compound is reacted with at least about 0.1mol (with respect to allyl ether groups) per mol of the isocyanato groups in the above compound, polyalcohol allyl ether (e.g., pentaerythritol allyl ether) at about 40-80 deg.C. As said polyalcohol allyl ether, a combination of a polyalcohol allyl ether with an active hydrogen-containing acrylic monomer may be used.
