PURPOSE:A sol containing a biocatalyst is fed into a nozzle and a sol drop is, before falls from the nozzle end, brought into contact with a coagulation solution to effect gelation whereby the titled gel particle which has a small size, large reaction area and narrow size distribution. CONSTITUTION:A sol solution containing a biocatalyst 1 is fed from the tank 2 through pipe 4 and the flow rate regulator 3 into nozzle 11 and drops of the sol solution 21 formed on the bottom end of the nozzles 11 or 23 are brought into contact with coagulation bath 9, 22 before they fall off from the nozzle end, whereby the drops are taken into the bath and coagulated into gel particles. Thus, the objective gel to which a biocatalyst is immobilized is obtained.
