PURPOSE:To make possible the decrease in sliding noise and the increase in output by using Mn-Zn ferrite made of the compsn. to satisfy the lower sliding noise to constitute the magnetic core on the magnetic tape incoming side out of two magnetic cores and the Mn-Zn ferrite of the compsn. to satisfy the higher output to constitute the magnetic core on the outgoing side. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head has the magnetic core consisting of two pieces of single crystal Mn-Zn ferrite facing each other via a working gap. The head is so constituted that the (110) face of the single crystal Mn-Zn ferrite of such magnetic core is approximately parallel with the main magnetic circuit forming face of the magnetic head and that the angle between the <100> direction existing in the (110) face and the forming face of the working gap is 0-90 deg.. The magnetic core 2 on the tape incoming side in this case is constituted of the Mn-Zn ferrite consisting of 53-57mol% Fe2O3, 17-40mol% MnO and 15-40mol% ZnO or Mn-Zn-Sn and Mn-Zn-Ti ferrite of relatively low magnetic permeability added with additives such as Sn and Ti. The magnetic core 3 on the tape outgoing side is constituted of the Mn-Zn ferrite of relatively high magnetic permeability consisting of 48-53mol% Fe2O3, 17-40mol% MnO and 15-40mol% ZnO. |
