摘要 PURPOSE:A readily available nitrile such as 2-acetoxy-2-methylpropanenitrile is used as a starting material and treated with a base to enable high-efficiency production of the titled compound which is used as a starting material for hypotensor or plant growth retarder. CONSTITUTION:A ketone is converted into a cyanohydrin, the product is acylated or a ketone is allowed to react with a cyanated trimethylsilyl in the presence of a catalyst to form a cyanohydrin trimethylsilyl ether. Then, the product is allowed to react with acetic anhydride in the presence of a catalyst to give a compound of formula I (R<1>, R<2> are alkyl, aryl, R<1> and R<2> incorporate to form alkylene or polymethylene; R<3> is H, halogen, alkyl, acyl, aryl, arylthio, arylsulfinyl). The product is treated with a base such as diisopropylamine or triethylamine to give an aminofuran of formula II such as 4-amino-5,5- dimethyl-2(5H)furanone.
