PURPOSE:To make the chucking and machining of a work performable so properly even when many types of works are fed to a machine in a random manner, by connecting a work type discriminator and a lathe plus a robot all to a controlling computer. CONSTITUTION:A lathe turning machine 1 is provided with an automatic tool changer 22 and an automatic chuck jaw changer 11. A work conveying robot 31 is installed in position between the lathe 1 and a work feeder 25, and a work type discriminator 32 is installed in this work feeder 25. Here, a controlling computer 39 is connected to the work type discriminator 32, the lathe 1 and the robot 31 each. Therefore, with work discriminating information out of the work type discriminator 32, the controlling computer 39 determines such information conformable to the work concerned out of plural number of robot motion information and machining information it prestored, and this determined information is fed to the robot 31 and the lathe 1, thus machining is performable. |
