PURPOSE:To make sufficient distortion correction and to simplify its adjustment by switching a parallel resonance circuit of a capacitor and a coil charged by a vertical deflection current based on a horizontal deflection pulse. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal deflection pulse is supplied from a terminal Hd to a shaping circuit 30, and a square wave is obtained from the circuit 30. This is supplied to the base of a TR24 through a transistor TR29 and a driving transformer 27. Consequently, the TR24 becomes the state of conduction, and a parallel resonance circuit is formed of a capacitor 19, a coil 21, diode 23 and TR24. In the case where a switching element 22 becomes the state of non-conduction, a distortion correcting vertical deflection current iD flows to the capacitor 19 through a deflecting coil 14 and a saw tooth voltage is obtained at a point P. By this saw tooth voltage, a parabolic wave current flows to the coil 14 superposing on vertical deflection current of a fixed value that does not contain distortion correction components.
