PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to fit a bottom blowing tuyere to the bottom iron shell of a converter by welding a metallic frame for positioning to the inside of the iron shell and inserting filling brick in the space between the frame and tuyere brick. CONSTITUTION:A metallic frame 8 for positioning is welded to the inside of the bottom iron shell 1 of a converter so that a tuyere blowpipe 2a is positioned at the center while a margin for inserting filling brick 10 (the 1st layer 10a, the 2nd layer 10b) is left. Tuyere brick 6c or the brick 6c and sleeve brick 9a-9c are fixed on the blowpipe 2a and mounted on the iron shell 1. The filling brick 10a, 10b is then inserted in the space between the tuyere brick 6c or the sleeve brick 9a-9c and the metallic frame 8. Thus, a bottom tuyere 11 provided with the blowpipe 2a and made of the tuyere brick 6c or the brick 6c and the sleeve brick 9a-9c is fitted to the iron shell 1 in a short time. |
