PURPOSE:To achieve increased production efficiency by equally making the entire surface of the electrode base water repellent by transferring a water- repellent paste on to the electrode base in accordance with the rotation of a containg roll to make the paste permeate into the electrode base and then thermally treating it. CONSTITUTION:A doctor roll 2 is fixed with a controlled gap (S1) allowed between the roll 12 and a coating roll 13. The rotation of the roll 13 causes a water-repellent paste 11 to be drawn from a paste reservoir 16 through the gap (S1). The paste 11 is then spread over the surface of the roll 13 before being transferred onto an electrode base 10 moved in the D direction by a roll 14. After the transferred water-repellent paste permeates into the electrode base 10, the electrode base 10 is heated to make the paste closely adhere to the electrode base 10. Accordingly, the entire surface of the electrode base 10 is equally made water repellent, thereby achieving increased production efficiency. |
