PURPOSE:To prevent generation of interference fringes at the time of forming an image by forming on a substrate a photoreceptive layer contg. at least one of O, C, and N, and having at least one pair of nonparallel interfaces in short range to form a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:The photoreceptor is formed by successively laminating on the substrate the first amorphous layer contg. Si and Ge, and the second photoconductive amorphous layer contg. Si, and an amorphous surface layer made of Si and C. At least one of the first and the second layers contains a conductivity governing substance in a distribution nonuniform in the film thickness direction. Further, the photoreceptive layer contains at least one of O, C, and N, and it is provided with one pair of nonparallel interfaces or more in each short range arranged at least in one direction in a plane perpendicular to the film thickness direction. |
