Food supply unit for battery hens - has food conveyor chains located in gutters extending along rows of cages

The supply unit is for cages in rows, each row having a food gutter (23,26). The gutters have horizontal conveyors (27) i.e. chains or cables with pushers. Multiple horizontally-spaced vertical food supply pipes (12) open into the gutters. The rows of cages can be superimposed with the supply pipes connected to each gutter of resp. rows. The supply pipes can be connected at their upper sides to a supply conduit having its own conveyor. The lower ends are connected to a return conduit.
