The process consists especially in modifying the chemical form of the ruthenium complex ion by an electrochemical reductive action caused in a column filled with pile matter in water and by a strong reducing atmosphere due to the active hydrogen produced in the latter, and in absorbing the ion on active carbon which is an anodic substance.
