Enzymatic dishwashing compsn. comprises an active detergent, an alkali salt, an enzyme and (new feature) a layered clay (I). Pref. (I) is present at 0.5-25 wt.% and the compsn. has pH 9-11 at a 0.3% concn. in water. (I) is pref. a smectite, kaolin, illite, chlorite, attapulgite or mixed layer clay, esp. a hectorite (opt. synthetic), montmorillonite or bentonite.
