<p>New beta-lactam cpds. of formula (I) and their salts and esters, in which R6 is H or a hydrocarbon gp., are made by reaction of a cpd. of formula (II), in which R8 is a carboxy-protecting gp. Y is halogen, with a cpd. of formula H2N.NHCHO. Reaction is carried out in an inert organic solvent in presence of a strong, non-nucleophilic base at -20 to 40 deg.C. (Corrected abstract)</p> |
