PURPOSE:To form simply a rotary polyhedral mirror at low production cost by forming a box-like material having a polygonal prism-like part having a center axis for rotation, charging resin, a reflector surface obtained by cutting off the sides of the polygonal prism-like part precisely and a coat to function as an increasing reflection film and/or a protection film. CONSTITUTION:A base material 1 having a regular hexagonal prism-like shape is molded by reduction and cold forging or the like using an aluminium or aluminium alloy material. The inside of the formed base material 1 is filled with resin 2. Then, end surfaces 1a, 1b to be fitting and working references are formed on the base material 1 filled with the resin 2 by super-precision cutting. Then, the super-precision cutting processing of a surface for forming a reflector surface of the base material 1 is executed by using the end surface 1b as as a reference surface and a reflector surface 3 is formed on the side of the hexagonal prism-like part having a prescribed angle to the reference surface. Finally, a coat 4 is formed on the reflector surface 3 to improve the reflecting function of the reflector surface 3 and protect the reflector surface 3. |
